Who We Are

The Santa Cruz Audiovisual Hub (SCPA) is an audiovisual sector ecosystem that aims to strengthen micro, small and medium-sized production companies in Santa Cruz and the region, promoting the qualification of the workforce and encouraging quality original production.

The Hub also values ​​research and the preservation of our audiovisual heritage, making the creative economy increasingly relevant in our region.

How did Santa Cruz Polo Audiovisual come about?

The SCPA project was included in the state notice of the Paulo Gustavo Law, which included a specific line for the creation of regional audiovisual ecosystems.

If audiovisual grows, the economy grows with it.

In 2023 and 2024 alone, local production companies that are part of the Santa Cruz Audiovisual Hub raised more than R$10 million for the production of series and films.

A recent study by the Getúlio Vargas Foundation (FGV) revealed that, in Rio de Janeiro, each R$1 invested through the Paulo Gustavo Law generated an impact of R$6.51.

Based on this study, we can project that, in 2025, the impact of the achievements of Santa Cruz production companies in the city will be approximately R$60 million.

This impact translates into new direct and indirect jobs, involving not only professionals and companies in the audiovisual sector, but also in sectors such as hotels, food, transportation, clothing, and carpentry, among others.

Audiovisual promotes tourism, culture and education.

In addition to its economic impact, audiovisual media, as a powerful form of artistic expression, also has a symbolic impact, creating new viewers and contributing to local and national culture.

Many of its impacts are unpredictable and can only be perceived over time.

Audiovisual media has a profound effect on the imagination. For example, a local setting featured in a successful film or series can easily become a tourist destination, something that has already happened in many parts of Brazil and the world.
